Eurovision 2015 kicked off in style with a slick semi-final on Tuesday where Russia received a warm reaction, one of the contest’s early favourites, Finland, failed to make it. Just goes to show that anything can happen in Eurovision. The BBC Three team work so hard and I’m very grateful for the opportunity that they have given me for the past four years at Eurovision. Let’s not forget radio though and it is always so lovely to see the BBC guys; Alex, Paul and Paddy – thanks for all the advice, friendship and laughter!
Tonight sees ten more countries battle for their place in Saturday’s final. This is the big one to watch with Sweden, the bookie’s favourite, among the participants. I think this is the one to beat but then again, I’m notoriously bad at picking the winner!
After tonight’s semi-final I’m heading back to London, and I’m looking forward to a long sleep! Eurovision is exhausting but I’m hugely privileged to be able to do what I do and I’m looking forward to the final on Saturday!
Happy Eurovision one and all!
